COMMUNICATION INFRASTRUCTURE PROJECT

Overview: The City of Unalaska requests sealed bids from qualified contractors for the Communication Infrastructure Proejct. The Work will include, but not be limited to, furnishing all plant, labor, tools, equipment, and materials and performing all operations in connection with the COMMUNICATION INFRASTRUCTURE PROJECT. The Work includes the installation of fiber optic cabling, both between and within specified City facilities. The installation of cabling between City facilities will utilize approximately 66,000 feet of existing underground conduit and approximately 60 vaults. The installation of these backbone routes will require the utilization of the Blown Fiber method to accommodate the distance between vaults and facilities. The network consists of fiber optic cabling of various counts from 12-288F. All cable splicing will require the fusion method, the installation of splice trays, and organizing cable slack in an estimated 60 splice boxes. Provide and install building entrances for approximately 35 locations, including cable supports and pass-throughs, per the included designs and in a professional manner. Terminate all fiber end points and test per Tier 2 testing procedures. Document installation and test results per RFP requirements and deliver to customer.

Deadline: Sealed bids will be received until 2:00 p.m., local time on April 24, 2026 and then will be publicly opened and read aloud. Any bids received after the time and date specified will not be considered.
