Responsibilities:
The Department of Public Utilities provides electric, water, wastewater, and solid waste services that support the health, safety, and economic well-being of the community. Utility employees generate and deliver electric power, produce and distribute drinking water, collect and treat wastewater, operate and maintain the Landfill, and ensure critical utility facilities remain safe, dependable, and environmentally responsible. Together, these divisions work to provide high-quality utility services, maintain regulatory compliance, support community growth, and protect public health.
Mission:
The mission of the Department of Public Utilities is to provide Electric, Solid Waste, Water and Wastewater services that, within regulatory guidelines, meets or exceeds our customer’s needs and expectations for safety, quality, and quantity; to provide these services at a competitive price and in a fair and equitable and environmentally responsible manner; and to provide opportunities for personal and professional development for employees at all levels of each Division.
