For 26 consecutive years, Unalaska's International Port of Dutch Harbor has remained the #1 fishing port in the United States by volume, and serves as the backbone of Alaska's seafood industry.

In 2022, Unalaska's commercial fishing fleet landed 613.5 million pounds of fish & shellfish, valued at approximately $160 million. Alaska Pollock dominated the volume, but high-value crab and halibut also contribute significantly to the port's economic value.

Dutch Harbor supports some of the richest fishing grounds in the world, providing essential infrastructure for harvesting, processing, and shipping seafood that supplies both domestic, and international trade.

Overall, Alaska supplies 60% of the total US seafood harvest and produces 60% of the nations commercial fisheries. The fisheries in Alaska are recognized as some of the best managed in the world, providing tens of thousands of seasonal and full-time jobs, and a vital long-term economic engine for Alaska communities as well as the state.
