Seat C - Zac Schasteen
Zac Schasteen
Zac Schasteen brings more than two decades of public service and leadership experience to the Unalaska City Council. A longtime Unalaska resident, he previously served the community as a Police Officer, Firefighter, and Emergency Medical Technician for over 22 years before transitioning into maritime logistics and port management.
Zac serves as Chair of the State of Alaska’s Occupational Safety and Health Review Board, a quasi-judicial board that adjudicates workplace safety matters statewide. He is also a member of the Aleutian and Pribilof Islands Local Emergency Planning Committee and a founding member and Vice President of the Aleutian Pribilof Islands Emergency Preparedness Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization supporting regional emergency readiness and resilience.
His ongoing focus is on public safety, sustainable development, and strengthening Unalaska’s long-term infrastructure and community preparedness.
